Intro to portfolios
Learn how portfolios in TaskFord help organize related boards and projects for high-level project tracking.
A Portfolio in TaskFord provides a high-level view of work across multiple boards. Instead of switching between individual boards, a portfolio aggregates tasks, timelines, and progress from connected boards into a single workspace. This allows portfolio managers, team leads, and executives to track progress, identify risks, and report outcomes efficiently, without losing time to context switching.
Portfolios can be used to group boards by team, department, product area, client, or strategic initiative. Each connected board remains independent, but key information surfaces at the portfolio level for cross-project visibility.
Boards vs. Portfolios
Boards contain tasks with assignees and due dates, whereas Portfolios group multiple boards together to give you a bird’s-eye view of health, progress, and team workload.

Portfolio permission & access
- Portfolio Admins — full control over the portfolio: connect and remove boards, create and delete views, manage members, and configure settings
- Portfolio Editors — can interact with tasks and views across connected boards they have permission to see; can invite others as Editor only
- Portfolio Viewers — read-only access to portfolio views and connected board tasks they have permission to see
Portfolio membership does not override board-level permissions. Tasks from private boards are only visible to users who already have access to those boards.
