Use this glossary to understand common terms used in the Plans & Billing section of TaskFord. These terms appear when you compare plans, manage billing, start a trial, update seats, or change your subscription.

Billing Admin A Billing Admin is a user role with permission to manage billing settings, subscription changes, invoices, payment methods, and seats.
Billing cycle The billing cycle is the time period covered by your subscription, such as one month or one year.

Cycle The cycle refers to the billing frequency for a paid subscription. TaskFord supports both monthly and yearly billing cycles.

Dunning Dunning is Stripe’s automatic retry and email reminder process that occurs when a payment fails.

Invoice An invoice is a billing document that shows subscription charges, billing period, payment status, and invoice details.
M
Member A member is a real person who has joined the workspace or site. The member count is separate from the seat count.
P
Past due Past due is a subscription status that appears when a renewal payment fails and Stripe is retrying the payment.
Per-seat price The per-seat price is the amount charged for one paid seat on a selected plan.
Plan A plan is the subscription package selected for a site. It determines which features and limits are available.
Proration Proration is a billing adjustment for changes made during a billing period, such as adding seats or upgrading plans. The charge is calculated based on the remaining time in the current billing cycle.

Receipt A receipt is a payment confirmation document showing that a payment was completed.
Renewal date The renewal date is the date when your subscription renews and your next billing cycle begins.

Scheduled change A scheduled change is a pending subscription change that will take effect at the next renewal, such as a downgrade, seat reduction, or yearly-to-monthly change. Only one scheduled change can exist at a time.
Seat A seat is a purchased subscription slot used to calculate billing. Your bill is based on the number of seats multiplied by the per-seat price. Seats are managed by the Site Owner or Billing Admin.
Seat count Seat count refers to the number of paid seats purchased for a site. The seat count affects the subscription cost on paid plans.
Site Owner The Site Owner is the main owner of a TaskFord site. They can manage billing, plans, users, and site settings.
Soft cancel A soft cancel is a cancellation scheduled for the end of the current billing period. The subscription remains active until that date and can be reversed before it ends.
Stripe Checkout Stripe Checkout is the secure checkout page used to complete paid subscriptions and update payment information.
T
Tier A tier is a TaskFord plan level, such as Free, Pro, Premium, or Enterprise. Each tier includes different features, limits, and support options.
Trial A trial is a 30-day free evaluation period for Pro or Premium plans. No credit card is required to start a trial.
W
Workspace / Site A workspace or site is the TaskFord workspace that owns the subscription, plan, seats, billing cycle, and invoices.
